Will's Baptism Weekend

This past weekend was a busy one (again!). Friday night was the fundraiser for the Monica Combs Scholarship Foundation that Kevin and Billy have been planning. Saturday was Keeneland and Sunday was Will's baptism. For this much excitement, my family just had to make the trip. Will's Wilkinson grandparents, his Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Matt AND Cousin Gibson all rode up in a minivan to join in the festivities!
The fundraiser was a HUGE success, and we are very proud of the efforts Billy and Kevin made in planning such a special event. They raised $36,000 for the Foundation!! WOW! The night got off to a rocky start because I ran out of gas on the highway. Yes, baby Will was in the car. Thankfully his Uncle Chris was with us and took control of getting us back on the road. All is well that ends well...just lost a little dignity after hanging out on the side of the road for two hours. I am very thankful to have such a happy & patient baby. Many thanks to the Crittenden, KY police who helped us. Not many thanks to the AAA man who carries rusted jumper cables.
It was not the best weather for a day at Keeneland, but we made the most of it! Billy had a hot streak (for awhile), but no big winners for the day. If our babysitter was a betting girl, she would have hit the trifecta though. We had to return a little early to rescue her from stomach issues and some loud crying babies! Thank you Maggie...we owe you!
Sunday was the most special day of all. Everyone felt better and was dressed in their Sunday best. Will was so cute in his monogrammed bubble suit and Italian leather booties (his dad was mad that he was dressed like a girl). Father Dan performed the baptism ceremony following mass at St. Leo's for our friends and family that could be there. We were so thankful that Muv and Granda made it! It was Will's first time to meet his great grandparents. Father Mac who married Billy and I was also in attendance. Greg & Jennifer House were there too with their boy, Davis.  Following the ceremony the Hoskins grandparents hosted a beautiful celebration lunch at their home. Below are some pictures from the weekend.
